Ralph Blasting is the Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts within the State University of New York at Fredonia. The College includes over 1,000 students majoring in the arts in the School of Music, the Department of Theatre and Dance, and the Department of Visual Arts and New Media. Dean Blasting also oversees the Rockefeller Performing Arts Center, a complex of theatres, concert halls, galleries, and studios designed by the architectural firm of I. M. Pei. Prior to Fredonia, he served as Dean of Liberal Arts at Siena College in Albany, New York and Chair of the Department of Theatre at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. His area of specialization is theatre history, he has published on medieval drama, student assessment, and faculty leadership. Dean Blasting received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Wayne State University in Detroit, his Master of Arts in Theatre History from the University of Michigan, and his Ph.D. in Drama Studes from the University of Toronto.
